Tell Me the Process

I get asked this every single day.
So here it is.

The exact path from deposit to bringing your puppy home.

No confusion. No guessing. No back-and-forth emails. Just a calm, clear process every Wild Labradors family follows.

Your First Step

01

You Reserve Your Spot

You place your $500 deposit. That’s it. You’re officially in.

Within minutes, you’ll receive a welcome email with your private login to:

The Labrador Lounge – your learning hub and preparation center

The Litter Lounge – where you’ll follow your puppy’s journey and selection process

From here, your path looks like one of two things.

If you see a puppy available right now

You can reserve that puppy immediately.

Because you already have a deposit, it’s simply a transfer request inside your portal.

That puppy becomes yours, and you move straight to pickup scheduling.

No roster. No waiting.

If you’re waiting for a future litter

You are added to the reservation roster based on your color and gender preferences.

This is where our automated selection system begins.

Either way, everything from this point forward happens through your portal access.

02

What You’ll See Before Selection Begins

After a litter is born, you may notice puppies appear on the Meet the Litters page.

They will be blurred with a large white lock over them.

This is intentional.

You’re meant to see that puppies are here and watch them grow…
but selection does not happen yet.

The lock remains in place until two things happen:

  • Puppies reach 2 weeks of age

  • The reservation roster completes its pick-or-pass cycle

Until then, puppies are visible but not clickable.

This is where most confusion happens, so now you know exactly why.

03

How Puppy Selection (Pick or Pass) Works

At 2 weeks old, deposit families begin receiving emails and SMS texts one by one in reservation order.

This is called Pick or Pass.

When it’s your turn, you’ll receive a message asking you to either:

  • Pick from a litters group (gender/color)
    or

  • Pass and wait for the next litter

You are not picking a specific puppy yet.
You are securing your position within that puppy group.

For example:

If there are three silver females, and you are second in line, you will see two of three available to you.

The first family already secured their position in that group.

⏱ You have 48 hours from the moment you receive your email/text.

You’ll receive reminders at 24 and 36 hours.

If no response is received, the system automatically moves to the next family to keep things fair and moving.

Once the final family has completed their pick or pass, the litter automatically unlocks and becomes visible for public reservations.

04

The Litter Lounge vs The Labrador Lounge

These are two different things.

The Litter Lounge is where you will see:

  • Photos and updates of your litter

  • The puppies you are assigned within your group

  • Selection progress

The Labrador Lounge is your learning hub where you’ll find:

  • Puppy preparation guidance

  • Care resources

  • Documents and records

  • Payment access and messaging

One is about your puppy.
One is about preparing for your puppy.

05

Scheduling Pickup Day

At 5 weeks old, you’ll receive another automated email and SMS to schedule your pickup appointment.

Appointments are scheduled in reservation order so everything remains fair, calm, and organized for all families.

This is the only visit you will make.

At 6 weeks old you’ll receive your final invoice through the portal.

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cash ; whatever is most convenient for you.

Payment is optional ahead of time so pickup day is relaxed and focused on your puppy, not paperwork.

At 7 weeks old you’ll receive a detailed reminder email with:

  • Your appointment time

  • Our exact address in Rochester, Massachusetts

  • Instructions for arrival

We do not publish our address publicly for the safety and privacy of our dogs and families, but everything you need will be clearly provided before your visit.

06

Bringing Your Puppy Home

You don’t just leave with a puppy. You leave prepared.

On pickup day, you’ll receive:

  • AKC Registration and Microchip Registration

  • A clean bill of health from our veterinarian

  • Collar and leash

  • Food for transition at home

  • NuVet vitamin samples

  • A plush that smells like littermates

  • A cognition dog puzzle

  • Our famous “Oh Sh*t Kit”

  • A Labradorite collar tag for good energy on the ride home

Before you head home, we also spend time together going over your puppy head to toe.

We’ll answer any questions you have, walk through the transition to your home, and talk through your lifestyle so I understand how this puppy will be living day to day.

This isn’t rushed. It’s intentional.

Because sending a puppy home prepared matters just as much as raising them well.

Everything is intentionally designed so your first days feel calm, prepared, and exciting instead of overwhelming.

You now know exactly how this works. No mystery. No confusion. No guesswork. When you’re ready, your spot is waiting.
