How We Raise Your Labrador Puppy

🐶 Birth to Week 2: Warmth & Stability and Early Development

Our puppies are born into a calm, temperature-controlled environment with daily monitoring from the start. Each pup is weighed and scored using Apgar evaluations to ensure a strong, healthy beginning. We use fleece bedding to protect fragile skin and prevent pressure sores, encouraging gentle movement and early strength.

🧠 Early Neurological Stimulation

Starting in the first week, we use structured, proven stimulation exercises to enhance neurological development. These include gentle handling and controlled sensory challenges that improve stress response, adaptability, and confidence. It’s the first step in raising a puppy who’s not just cute, but calm, thoughtful, and balanced.

🐾 Socialization & Handling

From day one, our puppies are exposed to everyday life: kids, voices, household sounds, and movement. Around 2 weeks, we begin sensory processing exercises. At 3 weeks, sound desensitization starts with rising frequencies, gentle startle noises, and positive reinforcement. By week 5, they’re exposed to textured surfaces like stones, grass, wood, slick areas, small steps, and low platforms. These tiny adventures build courage, coordination, and curiosity.

🩺 Vet Visits & Deworming

Health starts before birth. Moms are wormed during pregnancy, and puppies begin their deworming schedule at 2 weeks of age, every 2 weeks until go-home day. At 7 weeks, each pup sees our licensed vet for a full wellness exam and receives their first round of vaccinations (5-way). Future boosters are due at 11 and 15 weeks, with rabies at 16 weeks, depending on your vet’s timeline.

🧬 Temperament Exposure

This is where our heart really shines. We don’t just raise polite puppies, we raise expressive, thoughtful ones. No-jump, no-bite reinforcement starts early but is gently enforced at 7 weeks with redirection. Our kids are hands-on, helping puppies become human-social, stampede-proof, and joyfully interactive. We believe puppies should explore, stumble, recover, and grow without suppressing their spark. Our goal? A full-grown Labrador with the heart of a confident, well-balanced dog who still knows how to have fun.

📍 Microchip + AKC Registration

Every Wild Labrador is microchipped by 7 weeks with either AKC Reunite or Fi Nano chips. You’ll receive the registration paperwork when you pick up your pup. We do limited AKC registration for every puppy, no exceptions unless you’re a breeder with prior approval. This ensures none of our dogs ever end up unclaimed or untraceable.

🧪 Health Testing of Parents

We test everything that matters: hips, elbows, heart, eyes, and over 200+ genetic conditions including EIC, PRA, CNM, and more. It’s all documented and available for review. We don’t believe in flooding you with acronyms or forcing you to chase down proof. The information is public, and it’s real. Our testing program protects not just your puppy, but the Labrador breed as a whole.
