It’s been a busy and beautiful week at Wild Labradors! 🐾

Well, it’s been a whole week since my last post, and it’s been non-stop here. My three boys started school, and we welcomed new litters, which means life has been a cycle of cleaning, health checks, and repeat.

It can be uneasy at times when a pup is smaller than the rest, so I’m constantly monitoring:

  • Moms for milk fever

  • Climate control in the nursery

  • Puppies’ intake/output

  • Making sure moms are stimulating properly and not missing a pup’s elimination

  • Weight, hydration, warmth levels

  • Neurological screening (their “thrive” level)

On top of that, we had Beatrice return from her foster home because she’s in heat, we’re running personality assessments, worming schedules, feeding, cleaning, and of course taking endless pictures. And then… somehow remembering to be human, too.

Just know that every pup here is analyzed to the next level. I can spot an off puppy the way you’d spot a deer moving in a meadow. It comes with the seasons, the training, and the care.

Some updates may seem vague at times, but if I rattled on about every detail you might not make it to the end so here are the highlights!

Dutton’s Puppies 💜 (DOB 8/21)

These little ones are thriving and strong. Sadly, we did lose a tiny charcoal girl two days after delivery, during one of Mom’s resting sessions. She was simply too little to keep up. It was a tender reminder of how fragile and precious new life can be.

Bougie’s Puppies 🤍 (DOB 8/29)

Bougie delivered a stunning litter of all-white pups! She’s been such a steady mama. Bedding fresh, umbilical sites clean, and always checking in on her babies. A calm mom means calm, happy babies, and she’s doing a wonderful job.

Markee’s Puppies 🦊 (DOB 8/30)

Markee blessed us with a healthy litter of fox red nuggets! Each one has unique little white chest markings.

✨ Fun fact: This isn’t a “sequel to the Labernard incident” 😉 it’s genetics! Labs of all colors can carry a gene that produces white patches. You can even see it in Markee herself.

Dora’s Update 🐶

This Saturday will be extra special: Dora’s puppies are heading home!

Dora herself also returned to her family this weekend and is absolutely thrilled. A sweet bonus, her foster family adopted one of the Labernard pups, so Dora has a new little brother to keep her busy. We visited yesterday, and she’s already back to her usual self, transitioning beautifully.

✨ I’ll be posting a little personality update about her litter soon (spoiler: they turned out fabulous!).

Available Puppy: Nova 🌟

Our sweet Nova is now 13 weeks old. Calm, cool, confident, and absolutely ready for her forever family. We’ve reduced her price online since she’s passed the 12-week mark.

If you’ve been waiting for “the one,” Nova might be it.

Ebony’s Puppies 🦛

These little hippos can fall asleep anywhere, anytime!

Pick appointments are now complete, and I’ll let you in on a secret; I kept back a charcoal female. And since no one picked the charcoal male, he’s on hold too (my husband might have my head 🙈).

Why? Because when our mamas retire at 5 years old, we’re always looking a few steps ahead at the best pairings for the future of our program.

Did you know some of our families get to raise a future breeding male or female at no cost through our foster program?

Here’s how it works:

  • You start with a puppy chosen for the program.

  • They live life as your family dog.

  • At age 5, they retire from our program and stay forever with you.

Looking Ahead 🎨

Soon families will be choosing from a rainbow of colors: fox red, white, charcoal, black, silver and even a chocolate girl from Dora’s litter who’s ready this weekend.

The only color we’re missing right now is classic yellow!

Referral Incentive Program

Do you know someone who would love to join our fostering program and provide a loving home to one of our exceptional Labradors? If so, you can help us expand our community while earning a reward for your recommendation!
  1. Refer a Family: Share our fostering program with friends or family who might be interested.
  2. Application and Approval: The referred family must successfully complete our application process, be approved, and officially join our program.
  3. Dog Placement: Once the referred family is paired with one of our breeding Labradors, they’ll begin fostering.
  4. First Litter Milestone: After the first litter is born in their care (minimum of three salable puppies) and those puppies go home to their new families, we’ll send you a one-time $500 compensation as a thank-you for your referral.

Important Details:

  • The referred family must meet all fostering requirements and be a good fit for our program.
  • The compensation will only be issued after the dog successfully produces a litter of at least three salable puppies while under the referred family’s care.
  • Payment is processed once the puppies from that litter go home to their new owners.
  • This is a one-time payment per referred family.

How to Refer a Family:

  1. Direct them to our fostering page and encourage them to fill out our application form.
  2. Ensure they mention your name as the referring family during the application process.
  3. Stay in touch—we’ll update you on their progress through the program!   By participating, you’re not only helping us expand our network of caring foster families, but you’re also contributing to the success and well-being of our Labradors. Thank you for being part of our journey!
