Thinking About Getting a Puppy But Worried About the Work Schedule? Read This.

English Labrador Puppy

One of my longtime foster families is thinking about adding an English Labrador Puppy to their home. They’re amazing people, experienced with dogs, and truly part of our program’s foundation. But like many families, they’re nervous about how a young puppy fits into a full schedule especially when it comes to crate training.

I want to share what I told them, because honestly, this comes up a lot especially for families considering an English Labrador Puppy from our program.

Yes, you’ll find sources online that say a young puppy can only hold it for four hours. That’s not wrong, but it’s also not the whole picture. Puppies adapt fast when there’s structure in place, and crate training is a big part of that. It’s not about expecting perfection. It’s about helping them build up control over time.

Most of my families work full-time. And yes, most of them go back to work Monday morning after pickup. English Labrador Puppies for Sale often go to busy homes, and these puppies figure it out. Why? Because we create a routine that helps them succeed.

If you’re intentional with your schedule:

Wake up at the same time, potty break right away, eat, drink, short play, then another potty before crating they start to understand what to expect. Their little bodies learn to wait longer, and with time, that crate becomes their calm space.

Would it be ideal to have someone come mid-day? Of course. But many people can’t, and their English Labrador Puppy does just fine.

Right now, this litter is already going outside or using the litter box.
Next week, the box goes away and we shift fully to outdoor potty habits.
This kind of early head start makes crate training so much easier especially for families looking for Labrador puppies with reservation system or those planning to Reserve English Lab puppies in Massachusetts.

Referral Incentive Program

Know someone who would be a great Guardian Family for one of our Labradors? Referrals help us place future breeding dogs into the kind of homes we want for them from the very beginning.
  1. Refer a Family: Share our Guardian Home Program with a friend or family member who may be a good fit.
  2. Application and Approval: The referred family completes our Guardian application and must be approved for the program.
  3. Puppy Placement: Wild Labradors selects and places an appropriate Guardian puppy with the approved family.
  4. First Litter Milestone: After their Guardian dog completes a successful first litter with Wild Labradors (minimum of three saleable puppies) and those puppies go home, we’ll send you a one-time $500 referral thank-you.

Important Details:

  • The referred family must meet all Guardian Program requirements and be a good fit for the dog and our program.
  • The referral payment is earned after the Guardian dog completes a qualifying first litter. Whelping and puppy care take place with Wild Labradors, not in the Guardian home.
  • Payment is processed after the puppies from that litter go home.
  • This is a one-time payment per referred family.

How to Refer a Family:

  1. Send them to our Guardian Home Program page and have them complete the application.
  2. Ask them to include your name as the referring family.
  3. We’ll take it from there. Thank you for helping us build a program where our breeding dogs grow up in real homes with families who love them.
